We glorify God by following our Shepherd
Mat 6:9; Joh 10:11, 4
We are God’s children (Rom 8:16) living in His love (Joh 15:9, 10,) and
We are co-heirs (Rom 8:17) and co-laborers (1 Co 3:9) with Jesus as members of His body. Eph 4:12, 15-16
We are also citizens of God’s kingdom, (Phil 3:20) and the temple of His holy spirit. 1 Cor 6:19
All that we are and do is by means of God’s grace. (1 Cor 15:10) We live in, and so are immersed in, a giant bubble of our Father’s undeserved kindness but, for the most part, we take it for granted and so are blind to it. We don’t have to “earn” anything! Everything is an undeserved gift. But we do need to cooperate with what God by doing what He created us to do – work. (Eph 2:10, 4:16; Joh 15:8) Work at what? Being creatively productive in whatever ways our Shepherd guides us to manifest our Father’s grace, His undeserved kindness.
This is how we glorify God. As we follow and work with our Shepherd He teaches us (Mat 11:28-29) to replace what the world has taught us with God’s realities and objectives. His holy spirit replaces the world’s spirit in our souls. (2 Cor 10:4-5; Rom 12:2) And even though we may have more tribulation in the world because we no longer fit, we have more peace in our hearts because we know we are where we belong, and we’re doing what really matters in the long run, loving our fellow man, and thereby hallowing God’s name by demonstrating His loving nature.
