Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Joh 14:6
John said about Him, what came into the world was life, and that life was the light of the world.” Joh 1:4
Jesus also told His disciples, “I came that they might have life, and life in abundance.” Joh 10:10
And John wrote that “God is love.” (1 Joh 4:8) That’s important because it is by means of love that Jesus infuses us with life, and teaches us, His disciples, to do the same for one another. That’s why Jesus said, “I’m giving you a new commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. By this, all will know that you are my disciples.” (Joh 13:34-35) We are the disciples of the one who said, “I am life.” Joh 14:6
That’s why our Shepherd invites us to, “Come, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and you will find refreshment for your souls. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.” (Mat 11:28-30) Paul makes reference this “take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me.” when he tells us that we should “…take every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Cor 10:5
To whom was Jesus obedient? He repeatedly assures us, “I came to do not my will, but the will of Him who sent me.” (Joh 4:34; 5:30; 6:38) And what did God send Jesus to do? To redeem mankind from the consequence of sin, death. (Titus 2:14) Jesus conquered death so that we can be ALIVE! (Rom 5:12-21) So, when we get on board, when we demonstrate that Jesus’ agenda is our agenda, we glow with the spirit of life (Rom 12:11) and are “the light of the world.” (Mat 5:14) That is how we hallow our Father’s name. Mat 6:9
So, let go, and let Jesus heal you. Let Him bring you to life!
